While continuing stevedoring services, in the 1980s Dulsco also expanded into supplying general workers and then progressed to providing semi-skilled and skilled personnel, to companies in UAE.

Responsibilities and Facilities for our Employees

Around 1000 SOTS personnel work in industries and organisations throughout the UAE on a sub-contract basis. The company's services are offered on short-term and long-term contracts. Responsibilities with regard to the supplied manpower encompass recruitment, visa formalities, repatriation, and salary and benefits as per UAE labour law, such as accommodation, yearly leave and gratuity.

SOTS takes good care of its staff, providing them with free medical services, employee rewards and recognition under the best employee award, client appreciation award and spot award schemes, training programs to educate employees on issues related to health, safety and the environment, telephone and Internet facilities, a fully equipped gymnasium, free cooking gas, electricity and water, transport to and from the workplace, and sports and recreational activities. Dulsco also conducts regular courses in a number of languages to improve employees' linguistic ability. Drivers are encouraged to upgrade their skills and attend courses to obtain multiple licenses.

Quality Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE)

Quality health, safety and environment (QHSE) are of prime importance to this division of Dulsco. It has been certified IS0 2006 and follows all quality procedures.Our people work in various fields like cargo handling, ports, civil and construction work, tank cleaning, ship repair, waste management and others, where their health and safety are of utmost importance. Basic protective equipment like helmets, safety shoes and coveralls are provided at all working sites. If any other special equipment is needed it is provided by the clients.Our Health and Safety officers visit the worksite to check if the HSE requirements are met.
